Luke Jones Architects were engaged by Equestrian Victoria to prepare a masterplan to guide future development of the iconic Werribee Park National Equestrian Centre, located on the outer suburban fringe of Melbourne.

While a number of attempts have been made to Masterplan the Werribee site, including in 2019 and 2021, this work by Luke Jones Architects is the current adopted masterplan, and will be used going forward to access funding opportunities.

Proposals to improve the venue included addressing the layout of competition arenas, managing spectator circulation and viewing opportunities, weatherproofing the existing stables and managing compliance with FEI security requirements, considering equitable provision of facilities to suit typical participant gender ratios, upgrading existing indoor arenas, provision of additional stables, and a number of other documented strategies
